International Day of Action for Women's Health

On May 28th, we stand with the sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) movement to advocate for women's* rights.

Since its inauguration in 1987, May 28 has been observed globally as the International Day of Action for Women's Health and serves as an annual campaign for relevant topics related to women's health. The 2022 call to action is #ResistandPersist, which recognizes the gender-based impacts of the pandemic, including lack of access SRHR, increased care burden on women and girls and heightened cases of gender-based violence.

To create equal opportunities and empower women, research has shown policies must include access to SRHR in addition to education and employment. As we stand together, we demonstrate that #SRHRisEssential and a central pillar of global healthcare.
