May 1st was World Asthma Day – MEDUCOM is testing our lung capacity!

The emphasis for this day is to improve awareness and care for those affected by asthma. This year’s theme is ‘Never too early, never too late”.

Asthma can be controlled with the correct medication and care. Most individuals can live a normal, active life with the proper treatment. As a parent of a child with asthma, my family has endured many trips to the hospital in the middle of the night as well as several bouts of pneumonia, bronchitis and croup. Breathing is something that we take for granted - struggling to breathe or watching your child struggle to breathe is a scary experience for everyone!

Luckily, with the right care and support from her healthcare team, my daughter is now a bright & highly active 12 year old who has control of her asthma and understands her symptoms and what triggers her attacks.

Do you need help creating awareness or providing care for those affected by Asthma? Check out the following action plan in English or French.
