Posing in Purple for World IBD Day
World IBD Day takes place on May 19th each year and unites people worldwide in their fight against Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). This day of awareness started in 2010 and is led by patient organisations representing over 50 countries on five continents.
This year many IBD patient associations are raising awareness about IBD in elderly people. Under the slogan #IBDHasNoAgethe focus is on seeing how living with Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis is impacting their quality of life and care.
Many of the IBD associations are using the purple ribbon as a symbol of awareness and support for those living with IBD and famous landmarks around the world will be lit in purple to raise awareness about the daily challenges of living with IBD.
MEDUCOM Health Inc. is joining the global campaign to raise awareness about this disease, urge governments and healthcare professionals to take action and to show support to the ten million people worldwide that live with IBD. Join us and those around the world in showing your support by wearing purple on #worldIBDday2022!
