AML World Awareness Day 2022

Acute Myeloid Leukemia is an aggressive type of leukemia occurring in the blood and bone marrow. AML is one of the more common types of leukemia in adults but still accounts for only 1% of all cancers. It is estimated 4.1 men and women per 100 000 Americans will develop AML per year. Unfortunately, only 30% of AML patients will survive after 5 years.

April 21, 2022 is AML World Awareness Day. This year, the Know AML organization is running an educational and awareness campaign called Know Your Diet. The campaign is aiming to raise awareness and educate people on the relationship between gut bacteria and AML and how a healthy diet can support cancer treatment.

This week, MEDUCOM participated in the campaign by watching the Know Your Diet expert interviews available on the Know AML website For more information on how you can get involved this year, visit: https://know-aml.com/get-involved/world-awareness-day
