World’s Largest Cancer Conference Goes Virtual Next Week

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting is the world’s largest cancer research conference. It was originally planned as a live meeting in Chicago and organizers made the decision to switch to a virtual meeting for the safety of all attendees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting is set to run from May 29-31.

The majority of the abstracts were released last week, with over 3,400 abstracts accepted for online publication. Also, keep your eye out for the late-breaking abstract which will be released next Thursday May 28th.

As one of the first major international conference to move virtual, surely organizers of other major conferences will have their eyes on ASCO next weekend. The reduced fees and lack of travel, may help more oncology professionals to attend the meeting virtually than otherwise would have live. Most of the oral abstract sessions, poster sessions, poster discussion sessions, and track-based Clinical Science Symposia will be available on demand. Over 2,215 abstracts will be presented virtually over the three days of the conference. There will be a few featured scheduled broadcasts that will also be available on demand after they are presented. The full broadcast schedule is available here.

We’re excited to hear from our clients and physician partners about their experiences attending virtual ASCO20!
