Become a Heart Hero on September 29th

On September 29th, the World Heart Federation (WHF) will be celebrating the 19th annual World Heart Day. This campaign aims to increase awareness of heart health in communities all over the world.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounts for nearly 18 million deaths per year. It is the leading cause of death worldwide and encompasses an array of diseases including stroke, coronary artery disease, heart attack, and abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmia). Dedicated to the promotion of global heart health, the WHF has committed to reducing the death toll of CVD by 25% by 2025.

This year’s World Heart Day focuses on building a diverse community of Heart Heroes: advocates for heart health who have promised to lead lifestyles that help minimize the risk of CVD. Here at MEDUCOM, we have taken the pledge to become Heart Heroes and we’ve challenged ourselves to bring some of those healthy habits into our office! Check out MEDUCOM’s World Heart Day poster to learn more about CVD and our promise to reduce its impact.
