World Hemophilia Day 2019

Today is the 29th World Hemophilia Day (WHD), and this year the World Federation of Hemophilia is focusing on IDENTIFICATION and OUTREACH: identifying and reaching out to new members of the bleeding disorders community. This day is dedicated not only to persons with hemophilia, but all individuals affected by bleeding disorders, including caretakers, family members and friends.

At MEDUCOM, the team was invited to reach out for a cupcake containing terms and symbols associated with bleeding disorders like Hemophilia A, Hemophilia B and von Willebrand Disease, and identify myths and facts about these disorders. We celebrated the advancements made in treatment and discussed the need for continued public education on critical issues associated with care. Here’s to 29 years of bleeding disorder awareness!
