Today, March 21, marks World Down Syndrome Day, recognizing the third copy of chromosome 21 that defines Down Syndrome. At MEDUCOM, we rocked our socks with our Champion of Advocacy, Avery Vaz, who was our Honorary President for the Day! Beyond raising awareness, today serves as a reminder of the resilient spirits of those who overcome challenges to contribute in a meaningful way to everyone around them.
World Down Syndrome Day highlights the importance of creating an inclusive society. One day in the future, when Avery is looking for her first job, we hope every employer makes the effort to match individuals of all capabilities with appropriate roles within their organization.
