Saturday October 6th is World Cerebral Palsy Day!

There are 17 million people across the world living with cerebral palsy (CP). It is a condition that affects muscle tone, coordination, and motor skills and can affect a person’s ability to maintain balance and posture. It is typically caused by damage to the brain before or at birth. CP is the most common physical disability in childhood and is also one of the least understood. Its impact can range from a weakness in one hand, to almost a complete lack of voluntary movement.

October 6th is World Cerebral Palsy Day, an opportunity to join together to raise awareness of the issues that affect people with CP, combine resources, energy and knowledge and make a better world. The I Am Here Campaign empowers us to take action locally and, in doing so, help to build the global movement for change to improve the rights, access and opportunities for those with CP!
