As of June 27, 2016, the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) has switched over to the new Mainpro+ Certification system. The switch from Mainpro to Mainpro+ will affect all active Mainpro-M1/M2/C programs and any future programs seeking accreditation through the CFPC.
What’s different? What’s staying the same?
While the switch to Mainpro+ Certification will not impact the educational content of currently certified programs, all program materials and ethical review submissions must comply with the new Mainpro+ Certification criteria. These changes include:
- All program materials must contain appropriate accreditation statements reflecting the program’s Mainpro+ Certification status
- Certificates of Participation must contain the specific CERT+ session ID#
- Ethical review fees will increase to $150.00+tax per session and must be submitted 10 business days prior to the session date. The completed faculty COI form must also be submitted at the time of ethical review.
