On a recent trip to Halifax I had the opportunity to visit the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 (http://www.pier21.ca/home/), and would highly recommend this to anyone who visits the city.
Having immigrated to Canada as a teenager, I was fascinated by the compelling stories of other families who made the life changing decision to search for a better future half way around the world. A guided tour through artistic and informative exhibits rekindled my belief that Canada offers immigrants unmatched opportunity, and renewed my appreciation for the difference it has made in my life. I think it’s human nature to get caught up in the daily grind and take important things for granted, so it was a valuable reminder to take the time to reflect on the big picture.
In business, we sometimes take things for granted. A pharmaceutical Brand Manager may lose sight of the fact that each prescription represents a patient whose health has been improved. A sales representative may not realize that every time a physician prescribes a product, it symbolizes a placement of trust based on every customer interaction contributing to a stronger relationship.
Not unlike an immigrant to a new country, MEDUCOM entered the pharmaceutical industry as an independent agency that had to fight for each client and prove ourselves on every single project. We didn’t have the luxury of relying on an affiliation with a large conglomerate, being handed accounts through global contracts or working on retainers. Now 22 years later, MEDUCOM has established itself as a leader in healthcare communications, yet we never take our clients and our projects for granted. We maintain a level of effort that demonstrates how much we appreciate the opportunities afforded and the success we have enjoyed.
If you’re looking for an agency that truly appreciates your business and reflects this attitude in the performance on every project, give us a call.
